This book is the psychological and inspirational handbook for hope and healing for those involved with joint pain, surgeries, and replacements. It supports the global nonprofit corporation, Our Joint Decisions, Inc. NFP, founded by Bob and Leah Faught. Their mission is a patient educating patients to achieve pain-free mobility and a higher quality of life. Their primary focus is psychological and inspirational motivation through their principles of success called the CORE ROADS TO LIFE. This allows the patient to make the best Joint Decisions with their doctor, caregiver, family, and friends. They educate and motivate the patients and their team by replacing fear with knowledge, and demonstrate the immense power of MIND OVER BODY. There are no statistics for those patients that vow never to see their doctors, no matter how bad the pain; or those who refuse to follow through on their diagnosis, especially when surgery is required. This is where Bob and Our Joint Decisions wants to educate and motivate the patient and their caregivers to take charge of their life. The patient has full control of their body. This is why Bob uses the automobile analogy throughout this book. No one would drive their car with a flat tire, since this would cause further damage and misalignment. Why then, do many not address the joint pain that causes them great discomfort in life This book helps answer this and other vital questions patients, caregivers, and their support teams have in helping the patient achieve pain-free mobility and a higher quality of life. Bob has incorporated prose, poetry, and personal stories to illustrate the key points he makes throughout the book. Bob wrote a complete poem, called The Road of Life, and incorporated two stanzas at the beginning of each chapter. His personal stories range from his childhood days in Boy Scouts all the way through his many journeys in global business. Almost all websites, books, and articles that address patients overcoming joint pain focus on diagnosis and prognosis. This knowledge is critical in a patient's research to understand their diagnosis, and the solutions their doctor has prescribed. This is why Our Joint Decisions' book includes one chapter specifically on musculoskeletal issues, from arthritis, joint surgery, to joint replacement. This information is from the websites of highly valued Professional Health Organizations who strive to educate patients everyday. Bob's personal stories from his Road of Life, along with his 30 plus years as a patient, give great depth, texture, and insight to understanding the challenges we face everyday. These personal stories also stir excitement throughout the book, seeing challenges and solutions from many different perspectives. Bob confirms in this book his strength as a Patient's Advocate for the remainder of his life. Through Bob's motivational speaking city by city, Bob and Leah are working to establish a National Joint Support Group in the U.S. and Canada.
